Rick Markette, BOI (Born on Galveston Island), has been selling real estate in the Houston/Galveston area since 1992. In 1996, he joined Sand ‘N Sea Properties, Inc., specializing in all West Galveston Island resort property including beachfront, bayfront, canalfront and dry land residential real estate as well as condominiums and townhouses.

He is a graduate of the University of Houston – Clear Lake and Galveston College holding an Associate in Science Degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. Rick believes in the virtues of being calm, cool, collected, patient and persistent when serving the best interests of customers and clients. He considers the opportunity to be of service an honor and a privilege.

Rick has received the Stewart Title Company Spotlight Realtor Award several times. This award recognizes the realtor who closes the highest number of real estate sales at the Stewart Title West End office in a given quarter. His professional associations are with the Galveston Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, and National Association of Realtors.

He is involved in a number of community organizations as well. Some of his memberships include the Coastal Conservation Association, Ducks Unlimited, and Surfer’s Medical Association, and he is a volunteer with the Texas Adopt a Beach Program.

Rick is an avid outdoorsman! When he’s not selling real estate, cycling or swimming, you’ll find Rick waist-deep in the Gulf wade fishing. And when the conditions are right, you might spot him out among the waves with friends enjoying another passion, the art of surfing. Rick has a history as an international competitive surfer-athlete as he proudly represented Galveston Island and the State of Texas in many surfing championships.
