Barbara has been selling homes on Galveston Island since 1999. Although she specializes in West End resort property, she also loves historic homes found in many of Galveston's unique neighborhoods. As a former Houstonian who bought her first home in Galveston as a weekend getaway, she easily identifies with the needs of second home buyers who want a tranquil escape.
Having twenty five years in the airline industry prior to becoming a realtor, Barbara understands the importance of customer service. She was among the top producers in the West End real estate prior to joining Sand 'N Sea Pirates Beach and she credits her customer service training as a big part of her success. According to 2006 MLS statistics, Barbara was among the top five agents in Galveston.
Professional affiliations include: Galveston Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. She also is an Accredited Buyer's Representative. Barbara's degree is in Sociology with a minor in history and Spanish.
Civic and social organizations include participation on the scholarship committee of the Executive Career Women of Galveston; board member of Career Boutique; Vice-President of the
DoughGirls Investment Club;
service on the Vestry and Foundation for Grace Episcopal Church; Vice President of the Woman's Club in Jamaica Beach. She is also a member of the First Thursday Bunch and Galveston Country Club, and has volunteered at the Silk Purse Thrift Shop.
Traveling is a special love along with visiting museums, playing bridge and enjoying friends and neighbors. Most special is walking on the beach with husband Bob, a retired airline pilot, and their two German Shepherds, Xilla and Elvis. Bob and Barbara have five children and three grandchildren scattered throughout the U.S.
