Barbara Zimmerman

ABR, CLHMS, SRS

Real Estate Agent, Galveston Island

Barbara has been selling homes on Galveston Island since 1999.  She specializes in West End resort property and Galveston’s unique Midtown neighborhoods. As a Houstonian who bought her first home in Galveston as a weekend retreat, she easily identifies with the needs of second home buyers who want a tranquil escape. As the owner of an Art Deco home, she finds caring for a vintage home to be stimulating.

Having twenty-five years in the airline industry prior to becoming a REALTOR®, Barbara understands the importance of customer service. She was a top producer in West End Real Estate when she joined Sand `N Sea, and she credits her customer service training as a big part of her success.

Professional affiliations include Galveston Association of REALTORS® (GAR), Texas Association of REALTORS® (TAR) and National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Barbara’s degree is in Sociology with a minor in History and Spanish.

Civic and social organizations include the Jamaica Janes in Jamaica Beach, a social organization where she is serving as Vice President. Barbara was on the Board for the Beachside Village Homeowner Association for four years. She has also managed the Silk Purse Thrift Shop as an outreach volunteer, has been on the Board of Directors of the Diocese of Texas Episcopal Church Women, and has served on the Board of Church Grace Foundation twice. Barbara was on the vestry at Grace Episcopal and is currently a member of “The Friends of Moody Gardens”.

Traveling is a special love for Barbara, along with spending time with family, visiting museums, and enjoying time with friends and neighbors. Barbara has children and grandchildren in Texas and Georgia.

Barbara's pledge is to make every transaction as smooth and as pleasant as possible while obtaining a favorable outcome for her clients.
