Peter Van Borssum has fond childhood memories of Galveston and appreciates the advantage that growing up on the Island has given him in his second career as a local real estate professional.

Peter’s family moved to Galveston when he was 5 years old. He attended Galveston schools and grew up in a neighborhood near the beach. After high school, Peter attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. After graduation from UNT, he was drawn back to the coast where he joined a Houston-based geophysical exploration company and embarked on a 25 year career in the international oil field services industry. Over the years, Peter’s job responsibilities required travel to all parts of the world and included longer residencies in Anchorage, London, Rio de Janeiro and Brazil.

Upon returning to the United States from London, Peter and his wife, artist Diane Falkenhagen, settled in Jamaica Beach. “We could have settled anywhere, but the Galveston sand and salt air beckoned and returning home seemed the right thing to do. We don’t regret it one bit; moving to the West End has proven to be a very positive quality-of-life decision.

Having the advantage of growing up here means I have an in-depth familiarity with all neighborhoods and all aspects of living on Galveston Island. My experiences with professional IT Systems, business software, health & safety management issues and multicultural environments compliment my professional real estate skills. Most importantly, being professionally trained in a service-driven environment compels me to offer the highest quality of customer service. As the world of real estate transactions evolves, it is clear that only technology and first-class service will differentiate real estate practitioners.”

When not working, Peter can be found fishing in West Galveston Bay or working in his garden. Over the past several years, Peter has consistently been a top-ranking Galveston Island REALTOR®. His experience in representing buyers and sellers across a diverse range of property types clearly demonstrates his broad knowledge of the Galveston real estate market.

Since being licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission as a Real Estate Salesperson, Peter has obtained the following accreditations from the National Association of REALTORS®: e-Pro - Internet Marketing; Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI); Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR); Short Sales and Foreclosures (SFR). He is an active member of the Houston Association of REALTORS®  (HAR) and the Galveston Association of REALTORS® (GAR).
